Music in our Schools month
We have a tremendous amount of musical activities here at Merrimack during the month
of March.
On March 5th, we had a great time learning about Math through the arts as Mr. Harold
Wood of “Young Audiences Performances” gave us a great show using magic.
On March 12th, 14th, and 15th, parents are invited to join us in Music class to see how
we use technology and instruments in the classroom. Parents and families should
check your flyer to find out what day and time your student is having music. All are
invited.
The big event happens on March 19th. We will have our Third grade Musical
Performance of “Dig IT! A Musical Tale of Ancient Civilizations!” There are 2 options to
catch this show--1:00pm and 6:00pm! Come see how much your child has learned
about history! And be prepared, our skeleton fossil may sing and dance!
Lastly, our fourth graders will be taking a field trip to the Ferguson Center to hear the
Virginia Symphony on March 21st. Sorry parents, no chaperones. But check out the
Virginia Symphony website often to see their free performances throughout the year.
Upcoming events: Mark your calendars for April 21st! Hampton City Schools best
choral students will perform at Bethel High School at 1:00. This will include 5th through
8th graders.
And finally--Our Kindergarten and First graders will be singing about Patriotic Heros and
Symbols May 14th at 6:00 to round out our spring!
Have a musical March!
